We are excited to offer competitive flag football for ages 7 to 12! Flag football for ages 6 and under will remain non-competitive. Ages
GVYF offers 4 divisions of flag football: 6U, 8U, 10U and 12U. Players are assigned to the proper division according to their age on 7/31/2024.
When
The season begins with the first practice on August 5th and ends with the championship games on October 12th.
Where
Games are held at Canyon View Park.
Practices
Practice locations vary by team.
6U Teams may hold one practice per week up to 1-1/2 hours.
8U, 10U, and 12U may hold up to 3 practices of 1-1/2 hours per week.
Games
Games will be held on Saturdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm during the season dates above.
Equipment
GVYF provides game shirts, mouth guard, and flags.
Playing Time
Equal playing time is mandatory for the 6U division.
Players in the 8U, 10U, and 12U divisions will receive a minimum of 10 plays per game. However, it is the expectation of GVYF that if a player attends practice and is not subject to discipline, they will receive beneficial playing time amounting to a near equal amount for all players.
Roster Sizes
6U rosters will be up to 7 players.
8U, 10U, and 12U rosters will be up to 10 players.
Frequently Asked Questions
What documentation is required to sign up?
You will need to provide a copy of your player's birth certificate.
What team will my child play on?
Teams are assigned based on age (as of 7/31/2024) and the school they attend. If you have a team or coach preference, you will be given the opportunity to provide your preference during registration. If you do not have a team or coach preference, your player will be assigned to an available team closest to your home address.
When will I hear from my child's coach?
Expect to hear from the coach near the end of July.
What if the team in my area does not have enough players?
If a team fails to meet the minimum required players to safely participate, those players will be assigned to another team that is below the maximum. We will strive to keep players as close to their home boundary as we can.
What if the team in my area is full?
Once a team reaches the maximum number of players, players will begin to be assigned to an overflow team in that area. If the overflow team does not meet the minimum number of players required, they will be combined with another team that has not reached the maximum. What is the latest I can register?
Registrations will be accepted until August 16th.

April 20th - June 30th: $100 (8U, 10U, & 12U), $75 (6U)
July 1st - July 15th: $110 (8U, 10U, & 12U), $85 (6U)
July 16th - August 16th: $125 (8U, 10U, & 12U), $100 (6U)
